neck spasm
Sudden throat stiffness
A neck spasm is a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscles in the neck, causing pain and restricted movement.
The muscles may feel tight or knotted, and the head may be pulled to one side.
Neck spasms can result from poor posture, stress, sleeping awkwardly, or injury: I woke up with a neck spasm and couldn't turn my head.
