muscle knot
Tight spot ache
A muscle knot is a tight, painful spot in muscle tissue that feels like a small lump or nodule under the skin.
Also called trigger points, they form when muscle fibers contract and don't release, often from overuse, stress, or poor posture.
Massage therapists work to release muscle knots by applying pressure: She has a knot in her shoulder that won't go away.
