naval commander
Sea force chief
A naval commander is an officer who commands a ship, fleet, or naval operation.
The term describes both the role—anyone exercising command at sea—and in some navies a specific rank equivalent to lieutenant commander or commander.
The naval commander ordered the fleet to change course.
