natural life
Unassisted mortal duration
Natural life is the span of a person's existence from birth to death.
The phrase appears most often in legal contexts, particularly sentencing: a prisoner serving life without parole will remain incarcerated for their natural life.
Outside legal use, it emphasizes the full biological duration of living, as opposed to artificial extension or premature end.
