nametapes
Sewn-in name labels
Nametapes are fabric strips bearing a person's name, sewn or ironed onto clothing or equipment for identification.
They're standard on military uniforms and common on children's items sent to camp or school: Mom labeled all my clothes with nametapes before summer camp.
The term is sometimes spelled as two words.
