Sewn-in ownership strip
A nametape is a small strip of fabric bearing a person's name, sewn or ironed onto clothing or equipment for identification.
Common in military uniforms, school clothes, and summer camp gear: Mom sewed nametapes into all my shirts before I left for camp.
The term sometimes appears as two words: name tape.
