mountain plateau
High level ground
A mountain plateau is a broad, relatively flat elevated area surrounded by or adjacent to mountainous terrain.
Unlike valley floors, mountain plateaus sit at high altitude, often formed by volcanic activity or tectonic uplift: The mountain plateau offered grazing land above the tree line.
Tibet is sometimes called a mountain plateau.
