Mouldboards are the curved metal plates on a plough that turn over the soil as it is cut.

The mouldboard lifts and inverts the earth, burying surface vegetation and bringing fresh soil to the top.

This spelling is British; American English uses moldboards.

The old tractor's mouldboards were rusted but still functional.
