moonwalking
Illusory backward glide
Moonwalking is a dance move where the performer appears to glide backward while their legs mime walking forward.
Popularized by Michael Jackson in 1983, it creates an illusion of frictionless sliding: He moonwalked across the stage.
The term also describes the bouncing gait astronauts use in lunar gravity.
