moon dance
Nighttime celestial ballet
A moon dance is a dance performed under or in celebration of the moon, often with ritualistic or spiritual significance.
Some Indigenous cultures practice moon dances as ceremonial observances tied to lunar cycles.
More loosely, any nighttime outdoor dance might be called a moon dance: We had a spontaneous moon dance on the beach.
The term also appears in song titles and as a romantic image of dancing by moonlight.
