modularization
Dividing into parts
Modularization is the process of dividing something into separate, self-contained units that can function independently or be combined in different ways.
The term appears most often in software engineering, manufacturing, and organizational design: Modularization of the codebase made it easier to maintain.
The approach allows components to be developed, tested, or replaced without disrupting the whole system.
