military order
Troops must obey
A military order is an organization combining religious and martial functions, originally formed during the Crusades to protect pilgrims and fight for Christian territories: the Knights Templar, the Knights Hospitaller, the Teutonic Knights.
Modern military orders are typically honorary organizations that recognize service or achievement, often retaining ceremonial trappings of their medieval predecessors.
The term also refers to a command issued within military hierarchy: The general issued a military order to advance.
