midcourt

Between both baskets

Midcourt is the middle section of a playing court, particularly in basketball and tennis.

In basketball, the midcourt line divides the court in half, and crossing it with the ball starts a shot clock for returning to the backcourt.

In tennis, midcourt is the transitional zone between the baseline and the net: She approached from midcourt.
