commode
Ornate chest alternative
A commode is a piece of furniture with storage, typically a chest of drawers or cabinet.
In older usage, a commode was a chair with a chamber pot concealed beneath the seat—furniture designed to look dignified while serving a bodily function.
This euphemistic sense survives in American English, where commode sometimes means toilet: The commode in the guest bathroom is running.
