memorial parks
Graveyard euphemism used
Memorial parks are cemeteries designed as landscaped green spaces, typically without upright headstones.
Graves are marked with flat bronze or stone plaques set flush with the ground, creating an uninterrupted lawn appearance.
The term emerged in the early twentieth century as part of a movement to make burial grounds less somber and more park-like: Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles pioneered the concept.
