megafans
Obsessive dedicated followers
Megafans are exceptionally devoted followers of a celebrity, franchise, sports team, or cultural phenomenon—fans whose enthusiasm far exceeds casual interest.
The term emphasizes intensity of devotion: megafans attend every concert, collect memorabilia, and organize their lives around their passion.
In geology, a megafan is a very large alluvial fan formed by sediment deposits from rivers, sometimes spanning hundreds of kilometers.
