mayor-council
City leadership structure
Mayor-council describes a form of municipal government in which an elected mayor serves as chief executive and an elected council serves as the legislative body.
In a strong mayor-council system, the mayor holds significant administrative authority; in a weak mayor-council system, power is more evenly distributed or concentrated in the council.
The city operates under a mayor-council form of government.
