manta rays
Flat sea giants
Manta rays are large, flat-bodied fish with wing-like pectoral fins that propel them through open ocean.
They can span over twenty feet and are filter feeders, swimming with mouths agape to collect plankton.
Despite their imposing size, mantas are gentle and sometimes approach divers.
We watched manta rays glide beneath the boat.
