night dives
Subaquatic after dark
Night dives are scuba dives conducted after dark, when divers use underwater flashlights to navigate and observe marine life.
Many creatures behave differently at night—some emerge only in darkness, while daytime species sleep in exposed positions.
The experience differs dramatically from daytime diving: visibility narrows to what the beam illuminates, and familiar sites become disorienting.
We scheduled night dives to see the octopuses hunting.
