manta
Ocean's winged glider
A manta is a large ray with wing-like pectoral fins, found in tropical and subtropical waters.
Manta rays are among the largest fish, reaching spans of over twenty feet, and are known for their graceful, gliding movement.
In Spanish-speaking contexts, manta also means blanket or cloak—the ray's name comes from its resemblance to a draped cloth.
