moray eels
Snaky ocean predators
Moray eels are elongated, snake-like fish found in warm coastal waters, typically hiding in reef crevices with only their heads visible.
They have powerful jaws, sharp teeth, and lack pectoral fins, giving them their distinctive serpentine appearance.
Though they look menacing and can deliver serious bites if provoked, they're generally not aggressive toward divers.
We spotted a green moray eel poking out from the coral.
