ponchos

Pullover rain cloaks

Ponchos are cloaks made from a single piece of fabric with a hole for the head, worn draped over the shoulders.

Traditional ponchos from South America are woven wool; modern ones are often waterproof plastic or nylon, used as rain gear: I keep a poncho in my backpack for sudden storms.

The loose, flowing shape makes ponchos easy to pull on over other clothing.
