mangabey
Long-tailed forest dweller
A mangabey is a medium-sized African monkey with a long tail, prominent cheek pouches, and typically grayish or brownish fur.
Several species inhabit tropical forests, where they forage for fruit and seeds.
The name comes from a region of Madagascar, though mangabeys actually live on the African mainland—an early naturalist's geographical error that stuck.
