cheek pouch
Rodent food pocket
A cheek pouch is a pocket of loose skin inside the mouth, used by certain animals to temporarily store food.
Hamsters are the classic example, stuffing their cheek pouches with seeds to carry back to their burrows.
Chipmunks, some monkeys, and other rodents also have them.
Her hamster's cheek pouches were bulging with sunflower seeds.
