lung biopsy
Pulmonary tissue extraction
A lung biopsy is a medical procedure in which tissue is removed from the lung for examination, typically to diagnose cancer, infection, or other lung diseases.
The sample may be obtained through a needle inserted through the chest wall, a bronchoscope passed through the airways, or surgery: The CT scan showed a suspicious nodule, so the doctor ordered a lung biopsy.
