linkability

Capacity for joining

Linkability is the capacity to be connected or associated with something else.

In privacy and data contexts, it refers to how easily separate pieces of information can be tied together to identify a person: The linkability of browsing data to real identities concerns privacy advocates.

More generally, linkability describes how readily one thing can reference or connect to another, as with hyperlinks on the web.
