limoncellos

Lemon liqueurs, chilled

Limoncellos is the plural of limoncello, an Italian lemon liqueur made by steeping lemon zest in grain alcohol and mixing it with simple syrup.

Served ice-cold as an after-dinner digestif, it originated in southern Italy: We sampled three different limoncellos at the Amalfi Coast restaurant.

The drink has become popular worldwide, with many restaurants and home bartenders making their own versions.
