legislative chamber
Where bills pass
A legislative chamber is a formal assembly where elected representatives meet to debate and pass laws.
In bicameral systems, the term distinguishes between separate bodies—the Senate and House of Representatives in the U.S., the House of Lords and House of Commons in the U.K.
The word also refers to the physical room where such assemblies convene: The legislative chamber fell silent as the vote was called.
