Knockout competition trophy
A league cup is a knockout tournament contested by clubs within a particular football (soccer) league, separate from the main league championship.
The term is most associated with England's League Cup, now called the EFL Cup, which runs alongside the Premier League season: They were eliminated from the league cup in the quarterfinals.
Similar competitions exist in other countries.
