leadings
Line spacing adjustments
Leadings is the plural of leading, most often encountered in two contexts.
In typography, leadings are the spaces between lines of text—originally created by inserting strips of lead between rows of type.
In religious contexts, especially among Quakers, leadings are inner promptings or spiritual guidance: She followed her leadings to volunteer abroad.
