kamikaze drone
Expendable attack aircraft
A kamikaze drone is an unmanned aircraft designed to destroy itself along with its target—a flying bomb that loiters until it finds something to hit.
Named after Japanese suicide pilots of World War II, these weapons are also called loitering munitions or suicide drones.
Ukrainian forces have used kamikaze drones to strike Russian tanks.
The term sometimes applies loosely to any drone used as a one-way weapon.
