juryman

Courtroom verdict giver

A juryman is a male member of a jury—one of the citizens selected to hear evidence and render a verdict in a trial.

The term is now largely replaced by the gender-neutral *juror*, though it persists in older texts and some British legal contexts: The juryman was dismissed for speaking to the press.
