iron pipe
Plumbing section, ferrous
Iron pipe is pipe made from cast or wrought iron, used historically for plumbing, gas lines, and drainage systems.
Once standard in construction, iron pipe has largely been replaced by copper, PVC, and other materials, though it remains in older buildings: The plumber found corroded iron pipe behind the walls.
Iron pipe is also slang for a makeshift weapon—a length of pipe used for striking.
