intensive-farming
High-yield crop production
Intensive farming is agriculture that maximizes output from a given area through high inputs of labor, capital, fertilizers, or technology.
The term often carries negative connotations, suggesting environmental damage, animal welfare concerns, or unsustainable practices: Intensive farming has depleted the soil.
Contrast with extensive farming, which uses more land with fewer inputs per acre.
