debeaking
Poultry bill reduction
Debeaking is the practice of trimming or removing part of a bird's beak, typically done to chickens and turkeys in commercial farming to prevent them from pecking and injuring each other in crowded conditions.
The procedure, usually performed without anesthesia, is controversial among animal welfare advocates.
Also called beak trimming.
