inlet valve
Fluid admission port
An inlet valve controls the flow of fluid or gas into a chamber, engine, or system.
In internal combustion engines, the inlet valve opens to admit the air-fuel mixture into the cylinder during the intake stroke: The inlet valve was stuck open, causing poor compression.
Also called an intake valve.
