inflammables

Things that ignite

Inflammables are materials that catch fire easily—fuels, chemicals, or other substances prone to combustion.

The word is synonymous with flammables, though inflammables came first.

Both mean the same thing despite the prefix in- sometimes indicating negation elsewhere in English.

Warning labels and safety regulations use both terms: Keep inflammables away from heat sources.
