imperial unit

Pound or inch

An imperial unit is a unit of measurement from the British Imperial System, established in 1824 and still used in the UK and former colonies.

Common imperial units include miles, yards, feet, and inches for length; pounds and ounces for weight; and pints and gallons for volume.

The system differs slightly from US customary units: An imperial pint is larger than an American pint.
