horseback archery
Shooting while riding
Horseback archery is the practice of shooting a bow while riding a horse at speed.
The skill was central to warfare for steppe peoples like the Mongols and Huns, whose mounted archers dominated ancient battlefields.
Today it survives as a competitive sport and historical reenactment discipline: She trains in horseback archery at a ranch outside Denver.
