draw weight
Pull force measurement
Draw weight is the force required to pull back a bowstring to its full draw position, measured in pounds.
A bow with higher draw weight stores more energy and shoots arrows faster and harder, but demands more strength from the archer.
Beginners typically start with lower draw weights: She moved up to a forty-pound draw weight after building strength.
