homering

Hitting it out

Homering is making biased calls or judgments that favor one's own side, especially in sports officiating.

A referee homering gives questionable calls to the home team.

The term extends beyond sports to any situation where someone shows obvious favoritism: The judge was clearly homering for the prosecution.

From home run in baseball, though the bias sense relates more to "home team."
