home plates
Diamond scoring zones
Home plates is the plural of home plate, the five-sided rubber slab at one corner of a baseball diamond where batters stand and runners must touch to score.
The term rarely appears in plural since each field has only one: The groundskeeper replaced worn home plates on three diamonds.
