heroic age
Time of demigods
A heroic age is a period in a culture's legendary past when gods mingled with mortals and heroes performed great deeds—the era of Achilles and Odysseus in Greek tradition, of Beowulf in Germanic legend.
The term extends to any formative period remembered as grander than the present: the heroic age of Antarctic exploration, the heroic age of physics.
