harvest supper
Post-reaping communal meal
A harvest supper is a communal meal celebrating the end of the agricultural harvest, traditionally held in rural communities after crops have been gathered.
Churches, farms, and villages host these gatherings, typically featuring locally grown produce and seasonal dishes: The whole parish came out for the harvest supper.
The tradition remains strongest in Britain and parts of North America.
