hard copies

Printed physical versions

Hard copies are documents printed on paper, as opposed to digital files stored on computers.

The term emerged as electronic documents became common, creating a need to distinguish physical printouts: I'll email the report, but let me know if you need hard copies.

A single printed document is a hard copy.
