half circle
Protractor's basic shape
A half circle is a semicircle—the shape formed when a circle is divided in two along its diameter.
The term appears in everyday description where *semicircle* might sound overly technical: The students sat in a half circle around the teacher.
Half circles appear in architecture, design, and movement patterns.
