guildsman

Medieval artisan associate

A guildsman is a member of a guild—historically, an association of craftsmen or merchants in a particular trade.

The term evokes medieval and Renaissance Europe, when guilds controlled who could practice a craft and set standards for quality: The guildsmen marched in the festival procession.

Now mostly historical or used in fantasy settings.
