green energies
Sustainable power sources
Green energies are power sources that produce little or no pollution—solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal, as opposed to fossil fuels like coal and oil.
The phrase often appears in policy discussions about climate change and sustainability: The country is investing heavily in green energies.
Also called renewable energy or clean energy.
