ghost-ride

Car rolls alone

Ghost-ride means to exit a moving vehicle and walk or dance alongside it while it rolls forward, typically as a stunt or for showing off.

The practice emerged from Bay Area hip-hop culture in the early 2000s, often performed to hyphy music.

He jumped out to ghost-ride his whip down the block.

The term can also apply more broadly to operating machinery or vehicles in unconventional ways, or letting something proceed without direct control.
