gentrifier
Urban renewal agent
A gentrifier is someone who moves into a lower-income neighborhood and contributes to its transformation into a more affluent area—typically raising property values and displacing existing residents.
The term usually carries critical connotations, implying complicity in economic displacement: The coffee shop's clientele marked them as gentrifiers.
Some use it self-deprecatingly: I know I'm part of the problem—I'm a gentrifier too.
